The ED-18 is designed to provide the utmost in operator safety, but all automotive batteries contain hazardous materials and produce flammable hydrogen gas under certain conditions. For this reason, always observe the following safety procedures when working near batteries or performing the ED-18 test procedure:

• Keep hair, hands, clothing, analyzer cords and cables well away from drive belts and other moving engine parts.

• Use caution and follow all Battery Council International (BCI) recommended procedures when working around batteries.
